Kodaira International Friendship Association

KIFA was established in 1990 as a result of the efforts of numerous citizens. It serves as a hub organization for promoting regional international exchanges. Since its foundation for nearly 30 years now, KIFA has promoted regional internationalization, focusing on citizen volunteer activities. When KIFA was founded, there were around 2,600 foreign residents in Kodaira, while today there are over 5,000. KIFA performs a variety of activities to enhance mutual recognition of cultural diversity and to enrich lives of both foreign and Japanese residents.
