Started distribution of the official app of the Tokyo Fire Department!
Tokyo Fire Department

The Tokyo Fire Department has started distribution of an official app for easily obtaining information on fire-fighting and first aid—anytime and anywhere. The app was developed to target young people who have a high ratio of smartphone usage. In addition to Japanese, the app also supports English, Chinese (traditional and simplified), and Korean. This makes it convenient for non-Japanese people to use.

The main functions and contents of the app are as follows.

  • The FAQ section lists categories of questions and answers on fire-fighting and first aid.
  • Kyuta, the mascot of the Tokyo Fire Department, provides information in a conversation format.
  • The app can also be used for one-touch dialing of 119 and #7119, which is the Tokyo Fire Department Emergency Telephone Consultation Center.
  • The map displays fire-fighting facilities and locations of fire-fighting events.
  • The app also features a video explanation of how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), emitting a pulsing sound for the tempo of chest compression.
  • Information on fire-fighting events is also available.

The app also has a wide range of contents such as a video library and a fire-fighting quiz for learning about fire-fighting and first aid while having fun. This fire-fighting app has something to interest everyone and is useful during emergencies.
