In conjunction with World Fair Trade Day (May 9) and Cotton Day (May 10), so as to spread the word about “ethical fashion”, the “Ethical Fashion College” (EFC) will throw open its doors and hold an open campus event at IKEJIRI INSTITUTE OF DESIGN!

Ethical fashion incorporates manufacturing techniques that are gentle to the environment and to society. It is something that makes everybody happy, both those who create the fashion and those who wear it. At the EFC, using ethical fashion as a vehicle, by “knowing”, by “creating” and by “experiencing”, participants can develop a consciousness of a range of matters and learn about many different things while enjoying a very friendly environment.

When held last year, the EFC attracted more than 1,000 visitors in a single day, it being an event that shone in the spotlight of great attention. This year, the schedule has been expanded to two days, with the content of the event being much enhanced! With more than 60 planned attractions, the EFC will not just focus on fashion; rather it will pass on valuable ethical-lifestyle tips regarding many topics including food, ways of life and traditional cultures.

The EFC theme for 2015 is “Take Out Your Ethical!”. By participating in lectures and workshops, by enjoying films and fashion shows, and by purchasing from the “Purchasing Department” featuring a range of fair trade and organic products; after memorable ethical experiences that are experienced individually by each participant, by taking home what has been learnt at the EFC, perhaps you will also obtain hints about how to enjoy your own distinct ethical way of life?
