The Federative Republic of Brazil is a nation very much in the international spotlight at the moment due to its hosting of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. A festival allowing visitors to fully experience Brazilian culture will be held in Tokyo's Yoyogi Park on Saturday and Sunday, July 19th and 20th!

Sponsored by the Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in Japan (CCBJ), the "Festival Brasil" was started in 2006, its aim being to promote economic and cultural exchanges between Brazil and Japan. In celebration of its ninth year this year, there are numerous activities planned for the "Festival Brasil" through which visitors can savor some of the nation's attractions.

At the festival venue, there will be colorful performances of Brazilian music and dance, etc. on stage. There will also be numerous food stalls where visitors can enjoy delicious Brazilian cuisine including churrasco (grilled meat) and whole roast chicken. Visitors will also be able to quench their thirst with beverages featuring "acai," a fruit that is currently very topical! Additionally, there will be booths selling a range of Brazilian clothing, merchandise and accessories, as well as corporate booths run by a range of Brazilian companies, etc.

Obviously people with a passion for Brazil will be more than welcome at this colorful event where the nation's colors of yellow and green will enjoy great prominence. We also hope to see visitors whose understanding of the nation is perhaps limited to "soccer and samba." Attendance at the event will make Brazil, a country on the other side of the world, a lot more familiar to visitors.
