Japanese Language Classes
Language classes are offered in group form, using "Japanese Language For Everyone (Minna No Nihongo) for Beginners" as the textbook, at Honda Civic Hall (1-7-1, Honda, Kokubunji city) from 10:00 to 12:00 on Fridays.
Japanese language classes (nighttime):
These classes are offered privately at the Welfare Center (4-14, Tokura, Kokubunji city) from 19:00 to 21:00 on Wednesdays. Participants, ranging from school children to adults, enjoy the lessons in a relaxed environment.
Japanese language volunteer training program:
This is held from January to March every year. The participants learn how to teach Japanese language with "Japanese Language For Everyone (Minna No Nihongo)." Applications are accepted from December on.
Meetings for Foreign Mothers
These Meetings are held once every two months where participants cook and eat together easily-prepared Japanese foods. Common dishes are rice, miso soup, fried eggs, and seasonal vegetables. Since young mothers can attend with their children, and share useful advice on housework, child rearing, and daily life from senior housekeepers, these meetings are very popular, regardless of nationality.
Welcome Salon Get-Togethers
Salon Get-Togethers are held at the meeting room of the KIA office from 14:00 to 16:00 on Fridays. Participants enjoy chatting in multi-languages while drinking tea. Everyone is welcome. Please feel free to join these get-togethers. No application is needed.
